In the U.S., the month of July is synonymous with patriotism and celebrating freedom. The 4th of July holiday is a celebration of our nation’s independence and the rights of the American people.
That is… unless you’re a woman, as of June 24th, 2022.
In light of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade, I find myself quiet, struggling to find the words for this month’s Letter from the Executive Editor.
So, I will leave it at this:
To the women across America who already fought and won the battle…
To the women having to fight it again…
And to the future generations of women we are raising…
I am sorry.
In the words of the late RBG (Ruth Bader Ginsburg, U.S. Supreme Court Justice) … I dissent.
