Jennette McCurdy is an American actress, singer, songwriter, YouTuber, producer, and writer.
As of July of this year, she is also the host of Empty Inside, a podcast covering topics like comedy, eating disorders, filmmaking, jealousy, therapy, and the crippling sense of doom we all face as we desperately try to fill the void within.
Jennette was motivated to podcast by her desire for a “little hub” that would enable her to have conversations with people she liked about uncomfortable topics.
When you see the podcast listed, it has a really nice clean and clear look. The show jumps straight in (in one sense), as there is no introduction music or real explanation of the upcoming topic. It is very conversational, which is a positive for many, but it can also sometimes feel like a rambling conversation.
I was not aware of Jennette before this podcast, and I wonder if the podcast would be as popular as it is if she didn’t bring over her existing fan base from television. I am pretty sure I am not the target market here, so do keep that in mind with this review.
Definitely one for the fans though, as Jennette tackles some tough topics as she works out her podcast vibe.
